| Often times an individual may only stay at a community for a short time in order to receive the necessary care they need to recover from illness, surgery or other obstacles. Courville has a number of licensed healthcare professionals in a variety of disciplines and can provide physical, occupational and speech therapy.
At Courville, our providers believe in customizing care and treating temporary residents just as we treat those who regularly live under our care. One-on-one care from one therapist or a team of therapeutic professionals is diagnosed on an as-needed basis.
More about Courville’s rehabilitative services:
- Physical therapy applies to those who need assistance in regaining physical strength, balance and coordination. Some may also receive aid in fall prevention, caring for wounds and other special needs.
- Occupational therapy is geared toward patients who are seeking assistance in maintaining some or all of their independence by regaining the ability to perform daily tasks such as dressing, cooking, laundry and ironing as well as light cleaning activities.
- Speech therapy is needed by those patients who have suffered a temporary illness such as a stroke or seizure. Speech therapy includes relearning how to speak, relearning how to swallow, regaining memory loss and the ability to problem solve.
We are pleased to say that many temporary residents who receive rehabilitative care choose to return to Courville at some point in their later years when continued care and support are necessary. |
